YAYYY JIMMY GETS ON THE TRAILER NOW!!! I'm so excited.
It took a ton of patience on my part bc I am so "instant-gratification" but Jimmy has gotten 100% on the trailer both today and yesterday, and Thursday! Today & yesterday were the best, it only took about 5 min. yest & 15 today. Today I wasn't as patient and he could tell, so in spite of me.... he was stubborn.
Now I have to keep up with it so by May 2 he gets on like we're not even trying and impress everyone at Tievoli when we say goodbye after out lesson :D
Which reminds me, do you know how great JC is? Because today I practiced doing "lesson" stuff and he pretty much rocked it. I can't believe he's only 4. He blows my mind. Transitions, simple changes, extention, collection, Jimmy does it all. What a champion.
I love the heck out of that tiny dude.
The boys both have dry feet, so I've been rubbing baby oil into their hooves and coating it with hoof oil to seal it. I'm not interested in spending $20 on a bottle of WhateverItIsToMakeYourHorsesHoovesMoisturized when I could just massage some $4 tube of baby oil and leftover hoof oil (who even uses hoof oil except grooms in the hunters/equitation?!) and it does just as well (even better, from what I've seen) of a job!?
Tomorrow is a day with Todd, but I might drag him by the shirt out to the barn with me so I can practice loading Jimmy again and ride a little. And moisturize the boys' feet :P
OH!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I ALMOST FORGOT!!!!!!!!! Yesterday Chelsey & I went to the Midwest Horse Fair :) Our favorite horsey shopping event of the year! We were unsuccessful in finding jump cups... but we DID find some great stuff! (pix soon) Chel got a sweet navy helmet for $25, I got 3 pairs of breeches for $25 TOTAL and we found rubber-backed leather reins!!! MY FAVORITE!!!! I was so ecstatic, I couldn't believe it. They were $22/pair so I got two pairs!!! They are my absolute favorite type of reins and they are like $100 at Barrington Saddlery so when I saw the SAME ones for $22, I just could not say no. Now I'm set for life on rubber-backed reins!!! What a fun time we had :) We ate corn dogs, and hot roasted nuts, and snacks and dranks LEMON SHAKE UPS!! It was truly, a wonderful day.
